Back to School Information

We're so excited to welcome you back!

Below, you'll find dates, school supply lists, and everything else you need to have a successful start to the school year.

First Day of School

  • 1st-8th Grade: Thursday, August 22nd, 2024

  • Kindergarten: Monday, August 26th, 2024

  • Preschool: Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024

Classroom Visits & School Supply Drop-off

All Classroom Visiting events* take place on Tuesday, August 20th.

  • RETURNING Children's House Families: 1:00-2:00 p.m.

  • ​Lower Elementary:

    • 2nd & 3rd Years: 1:00-1:30 p.m.

    • 1st Years: 1:45-2:30 p.m.

  • Upper Elementary:

    • 5th & 6th Years: 1:00-1:30 p.m.

    • 4th Years: 1:45-2:30 p.m.

  • Middle School:

    • 8th Years 2:00-2:30 p.m.

    • 7th Years 2:30-3:00 p.m.

*New Children's House families will instead schedule a 20-minute one-on-one with their child's guide on 8/22 or 8/23. A sign-up list with available times will be emailed to families. See this document for more information.

Back-to-School Meetings

PK-6 Back to School Meetings

  • Children’s House (PK and K): Wednesday, August 28th, 5:00-6:00 p.m.

  • Lower Elementary (Years 1-3): Monday, August 26th, 5:00-6:00 p.m.

  • Upper Elementary (Years 4-6): Monday, August 26th, 6:15-7:30 p.m.


Middle School (Years 7-8) Meetings
(Both parents/guardians and students attend in-person for Middle School.)

  • Middle School Land Orientation: Friday, August 23rd, 8:30-9:00 a.m.

  • Middle School Back to School Meeting: Tuesday, August 27th, 8:30-9:30 a.m.

Community Events

Meet & Greet with Jessica Rawlings

From 2:00-3:30 on Tuesday, August 20th, all SVCMS families are welcome to attend a Meet & Greet with our new Head of School, Jessica Rawlings. We hope you will drop in before or after your classroom visits.

Maria Montessori's Birthday Party & Back-to-School Picnic

Join us in our annual tradition of observing Maria Montessori’s Birthday and our return to school in a school-wide celebration on Thursday, August 29th, 4:00-5:00 p.m. Additional details coming soon!
